Going above and beyond

there are tons and tons of big business out there that have lots of people and to make them work they run on massive bureaucracy that are slow and unaccommodating to the end consumer.  because they do this they can often offer better prices and make there products more accessible and more well known though big budget marketing complains. so what are we the small business owners supposed to do?  We go above and beyond when it comes to customer service we help and self market everywhere we go we offer the support that the big business cant in order to build up our customer loyalty.

Amazon

In today's world there are endless possibility for a new business and one of the best ways to do it no matter who you are or what your doing is though amazon, but why? well its because they already have all the customers and the infrastructure that often stand in the way of new business. They can take on a lot of the burdens of a business and not cost you that much. And if you set it up FBA or fulfilled by amazon you can keep working your job or living your life or start another business while amazon runs your first one with minimal efforts and all it takes to get started is a product.

Online or Retail?

When starting a new business or with a business you've pended or operated for a while one of the big discussion that you need to make is weather you want to but your business online or in retail stores or both, in today's world you have to be online everything and everyone is so if your not your business is going to suffer for it, so your welcome you don't need to answer that question, but that said, the real question is weather it's a good idea to sell to retail stores or even start your own store front business. And once again there are a lot of Different elements to consider here, what percentage of you sales margins would you lose and would your product or service be able to do well in a retail environment, how much more time would it take you to get in and stay in retail stores and if that time would be better spent elsewhere. Do you even like the retail market!? all these questions and many more need to be carefully considered in order to find the best fit for you and your business.

WHY WAIT?


There will always be an excuse, a reason not to do it, always someone that doesn't believe in it, or you.
there will never be a good time. So why wait!? Stop making excuses for your self and listening to the excuse of others and just do it. If today's a bad day, guess what so is tomorrow and if you keep waiting it will never happen and you'll never accomplish your dream of getting out of the rat race and achieving financial security. So get off you lazy butt and do it. You may not be able to spend 5 houses a day on it so spent 1 or 20mins just start and keep doing a little each day and pretty soon you wont want to do anything else, you will know when your on the right track when you start dreaming of your big ideas for the future.

pros and cons

As has been mentioned in many of my posts before I am a big fan of lists, and there are all different kinds of lists for all different kinds of things. today tho we will be focusing on the application of pros and cons lists. when you have an idea weathers for a new business, marking or promotions for an exiting business,  or where to go for lunch and very important things to get an answer too and not just rush into them. That where a pros and con list can come in handy. new business idea, PROS,  money, time, flexibility, retirement,  CONS, less time now,  need investments,  risky, i hate business and by going throw this simple yet effective process you will hopefully find of come closer to your decision. and remember these list aren't just about facts and accounting. you need to put you preference
in there to or in the end you may mathematically have the best decisions and yet it wont make any sense for you.

Who I want to be and why

With regards to my resent start ups and in relation to my last post, I would like to share the dissension I've made with my position in the business and why. I'm going to be focusing on doing online business that are more hand off and have the manufacturing out sourced to china witch is more cost effective for my products and less time consuming for me. i will retain as much owner ship in the business as possible while still keeping personal cost low witch will reduce risk. I will using amazon as my online selling platform to reach a wider audience  and again save time.  buy doing my business like this i will be saving time and money witch means i can do many business like this and make my income more stable to even if one business fails for slows down i still have all my others and time to work a regular job if i have to.  it will also give me the flexibility and freedom to spend time with my family and other interests. Now its your turn who do you want to be?

Who do you Want to be

What is an entrepreneur  "a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses" that's the definition! so as long as you meet those guide lines or you can be who ever you want to be in the business world. you have an idea that you've been researching, at some point you need to decide who you want to be in your business. how much time you want to put in, how much money you want to put in, how much money you want to get out, do you want to travel for work, do you want to work from home.... The list goes on and on of question that you need to ask your self because the answers to these questions will give you lots of answers to questions you are now asking yourself about the next steps you need to take in your business. questions like do i need to hire some one, should i go to China, should i sell to retail, should i stay online, should i get investors, should i give up owner ship, if you look closely you will be able to see that the simple personal questions from earlier answer these seemingly much harder questions. So who are you? and who do you want to be?

So you have an idea now what?

If you have been reading and actually applying the in direction in this blog you will hopefully pick an idea from your many knew lists, that you would like to pro-sue. So whats next, the answers is research. you need to really start learning about your idea, learn its pros and cons and wright them down. the life of an entrepreneur is full and all over the place to a series of lists is our best friend. find out how long it will take to turn a profit and how much of that time is actual work time and what is just down time. learn who your market is and everything about them start now is gathering marketing information that you will be able to use in the future when you actually have something to sell.

Taking it to the next step

If you applied the advice and strategy from last week you could have a pretty good sized list of ideas for a new start up business. So whats next, as i mentioned in the last post you need to go though your list with a fin tooth comb and see what ideas have already been done and witch are not currently possible for what ever reason, just start narrowing down your list until you have a short list of solid ideas you could do and with further research you will figure out witch one of those few you have left would be the best for you now. and you don't delete your other list because even tho they may not be possible for smart to do now that may change in the future. Just keep moving forward

How to generate Ideas

I lot of people have a really hard time coming up with ideas for a start up business, some of them have ideas but they think there not good enough, to far fetched, stupid, or not time or cost effective. others are just completely blank. Lucky there are some trikes to help with both situations if applied correctly.

A good way to start is by making a list of your phone or computer of all the ideas you have or have had. anytime anything comes to mind add it to your list, no matter how stupid they seem. Then make another list for anytime you see a need,or you want something, or when you wish something was easier, wright them down before you forget!

 Then when you have the time go through and find a profitable solution to the problems and then wright them down in your business ideas list. keep those lists going. then go though your business ideas list and find out witch one haven't been done or that could be profitable put in a knew list, the longer you do this and the more seriously you take it the better and more ideas you'll have. and soon you will have one worth pursuing.

Often times as business and entrepreneurial enthusiasts or want to bye’s, we spend a lot of time trying to come up with the perfect idea or plan for a start up. When the fact is there is no such thing, there are millions of ideas out there some are good. many are bad but maybe they are just bad because you aren't in the position to make it work, but in any-case focus on what’s possible for you and in the boundary's you have, currently in your life. Not all boundaries are borders some are opportunity for example many would consider not having a job or a steady source of income a limit. Or you can see that by not having to put that time in a job you can put it in your start up idea.
